Although some Therapy is often covered by insurance there are still ways around reimbursement from your primary insurance company. a superbill will be needed for you. You can then submit this form to your insurance company for reimbursement, which I will provide upon request. Many clients have utilized this and notice how well for them. In the long run this often times saves you more money. Please reach out to your insurance carrier with questions about your specific plan and coverage for mental health services.
Some questions you may want to ask your insurance company include:
Does my plan include Out-of-Network benefits?
Is private individual therapy services covered through my Out-of-Network benefits?
Does my plan have a Out-of-Network deductible?
what percentage is covered once my deductible is met?
Where and how do I send claims for reimbursement?
Paying out of pocket can mean a greater personal investment in your therapy, which can lead to getting more out of it. paying out of pocket means that your therapy experience is more private – none of your records, diagnostic information, or authorization for services must go through insurance.
In working with Health insurance companies there can be some limitations within the guidelines. It can be frustrating knowing that you need a level of care for you own personal benefits and well-being but the insurance company may decide otherwise and cut the services you need out of the treatment. Insurance companies require a lot of documentation that could infringe on your personal data as they require a diagnosis be provided to them and therefore tell you what therapy you can be provided and how many sessions you can receive. Being an out of network provider allows clients to decide the frequency and length of their treatment while maintaining their privacy.

Your therapy appointment is a reserved time for you. If you do not show for your appointment or do not cancel 24 hours in advance you will be responsible for the full cost of the session. I understand illness and weather can be an issue and these are the only exceptions to this policy.

The confidentiality of communications between a client and psychotherapist are protected by law. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) is what this law is referred to. information is not released without your written consent or physical presence. Although your information is confidential, for safety reasons there are some exceptions to this law. The following are some exceptions to this.

If an individual threatens to harm themselves I am required to take action to maintain their safety up to and including contacting family or the proper authority.
