Good Things Coming

Recently I have re-read one of my favorite books "The game of life and how to play it" by Florence Scovel Shinn and have been paying attention to a concept she continuously informs her patients of "you will receive the equivalent to or better than what you are asking for".

I first started to see this more and more when I was house hunting over a year ago. My family had an idea of what we were looking for and when we found a house that matched it we would place an offer, just to be out bid by someone else. Upset over not getting the house we then continued to look and then another house the same criteria was met so we placed our offer in then just to have the same outcome. But with each house that we looked at, put an offer in and lost, the houses we were looking at would be either comparable or better than the previous house.

This has been an ongoing thing in my life personally where I find things either continuously get better or is replaced by its equivalent.

The key here is to hold your intent firmly and never falter from it. There will be disappointments throughout the journey. These are universal challenges to see how committed you are to this goal. It is also a way to break ties from which used to hold you back in life to create new space for better opportunities. When you feel defeated and want to give up, that's when you can lean into the discomfort and grow from it.

I believe in good things coming
